I. Performance-based Multiple Range Adjustments for FacultyIn order to avoid confusion and misunderstanding about the Faculty Range Adjustment Program, it is important that the program's criteria be clear. As stated in the agreement signed by The College and Local 2364, faculty range adjustments recognize:
Applicants must "provide compelling evidence of a record of sustained meritorious work performance and achievement." in order to be awarded a range adjustment. In keeping with the Career Development Assessment Process, applicants need to engage in a thorough and in-depth process of self-reflection. Applicants should present various kinds of evidence to demonstrate that their contributions are indeed exceptional, above and beyond the normal expectations. In particular, applicants should reflect on their teaching in light of peer evaluations and student evaluations. (A summary of student evaluations from the three most recent years should be submitted along with the forms themselves.) Applicants should submit syllabi and other instructional materials and copies of their recent scholarly contributions. They should discuss the significance of their contributions to the intellectual and/or residential life of the campus community."sustained meritorious work performance and exceptional contributions to The College of New Jersey general campus community. …Meritorious work performance in this context shall be defined as exceptional accomplishment above and beyond the normal requirements and expectations associated with the candidate’s rank as referenced in The College’s promotions criteria."
