CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The Career Development program is contractually-based and is designed to aid full-time unit members in the development of a positive program of professional growth and career development. The State-Union Agreement (Appendix II) states that the two primary objectives of this program are: 1) to improve instruction; and 2) to meet the expressed direction/mission and needs of the college. Additionally, the Agreement states that the Career Development program "… is structured to aid employees in the development of a positive program of professional growth and career development." The Career Development Committee looks for evidence that the activity will support these goals when reviewing Career Development proposals.
Each year there are three
funding cycles: 1) fall and spring; 2) spring and summer; and 3) summer
and fall. Proposals are usually solicited in late September, late January,
and mid April for each cycle named above. Proposals are usually solicited in
late September, late January, and mid April respectively.
