Career Services provides a variety of workshops on career and major exploration, resume writing, interviewing skills, internship and job search preparation.
Mission and Career Services Purpose
As educators guided by TCNJ's mission, we lead and support efforts to promote student engagement, learning, and success. We work purposefully with others to create environments that enrich the TCNJ experience and foster the development of students as whole persons. Our aspiration is to develop globally conscious citizens whose character will be distinguished by an appreciation for the range of human experience, a commitment to act and lead with integrity, and a self-directed call to lifelong learning and service to their communities.
Career Services is committed to assisting students in, preparing for, and obtaining their career and educational goals - in turn empowering them to successfully negotiate career and work/life choices. We will help students by
- Providing one-on-one and small group career counseling to assist student in identifying their personal career goals and educational options.
- Identify and or develop resources to assist students in exploring career and educational options.
- Provide professional skill development training to assist students in marketing themselves to employers and graduate schools (e.g. resume writing, interviewing, and networking).
- Provide linkages with employers and or graduate schools through on-campus recruiting, Career Days (job fairs), networking programs, and special events
- Provide avenues for students to pursue experiential learning opportunities (e.g. internships, student employment, shadowing).
