Current Projects
Capital Projects:
New Student Apartments: Building A framing will be completed the week of 9/22/08 and the framing for Building B will be completed the week of 10/6/08. Exterior masonry and roofing have begun as of 9/4/08. Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing work have begun inside the building. Project remains on schedule for exterior building enclosure by December and occupancy for August 2009.
New Art and IMM Building: Foundations are 80% completed and will be 100% complete by mid October. First steel deliveries will begin the early part of October 2008. The building will begin to take shape with steel and load bearing masonry walls from October 2008 through January 2009. Project remains on schedule.
Active Asset Renewal Projects:
Steam Manhole Project: Manhole replacement at Forcina will be completed by October 1, 2008. Manholes and steam piping between Kendall Hall and Bliss hall continues to be modified to reflect existing conditions unearthed while removing the original steam pipes. Adjustments have been made and the new completion date for this work is now scheduled for the end of October 2008.
Packer Hall Roof Replacement: Project is substantially completed. All work should be completed and cleaned up by the first week of October 2008.
Brower Student Center Basement Sprinklers: Project is completed and approved.
Eickhoff Dish Washing Room: Project is occupied and the new dishwasher is operating as planned. Project was completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule and under budget.
Ely-Allen-Brewster Roof Replacement: Project is on schedule with most of the roofing work completed prior to student arrival for the fall semester. Contractor is working to wrap up detail work around the buildings (painting, copper gutters and leaders). Project remains on schedule and under budget.
Fire Alarm Cable Upgrades: Base contract work is essentially completed with some additional work now to be done in the fall months.
Travers Wolfe I.T. Closets: Project consists of installing new cooling units for the I.T. closets in the buildings. Waiting for DCA approvals to proceed. Anticipated completion is by the end of October 2008.
Metzger Road Partial Paving: Work will entail closing one entrance at a time in order to mill and repave the entrances on October 13 and 14, 2008. The partial milling and paving of Metzger road will occur on October 15, 16 and 17, 2008. Signs and police will be in place to assist in directing traffic during this period.
