COMMUNITY OUTREACH:

At the local, state, and national level there is a need to train professionals to understand and intervene with youth who have a history of victimization and are at risk for relationship problems. The Center encourages students and faculty to become involved in social prolems associated with victimization and relationship development. It provides them with conceptual and practical tools to address these issues on the TCNJ campus, in the local community and in communities accross the state. Local partnerships are being fostered so that the work of the Center addresses its mission collaboratively with the needs of its host communities. In addition there are opportunities for local professionals to attend colloquia and conferences organized by the Center. At the national level the Center produces publications and its members participate in state and federal initiatives such as the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress .
