How do get menu options to appear in a blank screen?

Here is a quick fix for when you first open up a QWS3270 session and you get a blank screen.

  1. Minimize (do not close) the blank screen.
  2. Open a second screen. The menu options should appear.
  3. If they still do not appear try opening a third session.

How do I look up my Mainframe (CICS, SIS, HRS, ADS) password?

If you forgot your CICS or second level security (SIS, HRS, ADS) password, please contact the Help Desk at x2660.


How do I reinstall QWS3270 when printout is jibberish?

If you do a screen print in QWS3270 and it comes out as jibberish, you will need to reinstall QWS3270 Plus through SAL.

Please note, you must be logged into the novell network.

  1. Click on 'Start' button and go up to 'Sal Applications'.
  2. Open 'Sal Applications'
  3. Select 'Desktop Applications' from the left side menu
  4. Double-click on QWS3270 Plus Mainframe

Once the install is finished, open QWS3270 Plus Mainframe from your Programs menu.  This should now be the program you use to access your mainframe screens.
