Advising
All history majors are recommended to fill out a Program Planner according to their history focus.
Students in History Liberal Arts (HISA) who entered the college prior to Fall 2004 and who remained "continuously enrolled" may complete the degree with the equivalent of 120 hours or 30 courses. If you interrupt your enrollment for a year or more, you will be held to the new requirements of 32 courses (128 hours).
Rising Seniors in HIST are covered by the old requirements listed on the Program Planners - to get credit for Student Teaching enroll in HIST 401/402 and SCED 489 next fall or spring. You cannot take any other courses while doing Student Teaching. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors in HIST are covered by the new requirements.
For more questions, please consult with your advisor. Please make a copy of your Program Planner and fill it out. See also TCNJ College-wide Advising Resources.
