Information Technology Administration
The Division of Information Technology consists of several departments (Enterprise Applications, Network and Technical Services, and User Support Services) and staff which span both IT and Enrollment Support Services: the Vice President for Information Technology and Enrollment Support Services, the Assistant to the Vice President and the department Secretary. This team of central staff work to develop the structure that guides the various IT departments as they develop short and long term goals.

Academic Computing Report - June 2006
Eight specific action items were identified in this report.
1. Review and update AY 2005-2006 Communication plans for AY 2006-2007.
2. Distribute budget reduction impact document to campus community.
3. Recommend that ITPC serve as a starting point for discussions related to academic computing.
4. Recommend IT become more closely involved with instructional opportunities on campus for student workers.
5. Recommend items in the communications plan identified as meriting "campus wide initiatives" should be discussed and pursued at a higher level.
The campus wide initiatives discussed during AY2005-2006 have been divided into two categories: items assigned to ITPC (Information Technology Planning Council) for further investigation and items assigned to IT for further investigation. For an update, see AY 2005-2006 Campus-Wide IT Initiatives
6. Formalize expectations of Institutional Research for Instructional Technology (particularly SOCS).
7. ITS should seek sponsorship of academic departments and the support of departmental liaisons to identify specific pedagogical needs for targeted workshops to replace the ITS fall symposium.
8. Recommend IT reevaluate vacant positions as the budget situation allows.
Strategic Technology Plans
The Academic Computing Advisor will continue to assist in the development of academic computing plans/strategic technology plans with the Dean of each school. Individual School plans will be posted as available.
The Academic Computing Advisor created a template and a Guideline for Strategic Technology Plans to assist the Deans as they begin their strategic planning initiatives.
Academic Computing Report - April 2005
Three specific action items were identified in this report.
1. Communication Initiatives - AY 2005-2006
As recommended in Tom Hagedorn's Academic Computing report, Information Technology met with each of the deans to develop a communication plan with each school. These plans, along with updates to date, can be viewed by clicking on the Communication Initiatives link above. Based on these meetings, we were also able to identify action items that would benefit the campus as a whole and have developed an on-going list of campus-wide initiatives.
2. Expand Instructional Technology Services
The 1st Annual Instructional Technology Symposium was held in the New Library on November 30, 2005. Topics included: "New and Emerging Technologies: A Guide for Instructors, Researchers and Holiday Shoppers", "Using SOCS in Your Classes" and "TCNJ Faculty Showcase".
3. Develop academic computing plans/strategic technology plans for each school.
