We here at Hillel / JSU are always reaching out to prospective TCNJ students. Members from our organization are always available to answer any questions you might have about Hillel / JSU, TCNJ, or college in general. You may contact us by e-mail with your questions or to set up a time to meet with a representative from Hillel / JSU during your campus visit.
Choosing a college is a big decision, and many factors contribute to which school you inevitably pick. For many, the presence of certain student groups or cultural communities on campus is important, and our purpose is to meet those needs for the Jewish population of TCNJ. Here are a few facts about Hillel / JSU that prospective Jewish students might want to know:
- Our Hillel is small, but it is neither tiny nor insignificant. We regularly have approximately 20+ students at our smaller events and upwards of 50 at our major ones.
- We represent all Jewish students on campus regardless of whether you are reform, conservative, orthodox, etc.
- Our Friday night Shabbat services are designed to be non-denominational. We strive to make everyone comfortable and invite members to incorporate their own traditions.
- We recognize the importance of the High Holidays and provide members free rides and tickets to local synagogues of varying affiliation.
- Students of any religious / cultural affiliation are always welcome to join us at any event. Our members often bring non-Jewish friends to our social events.
