Liberal Learning Program Council: Most Recent Minutes

November 19, 2008

 

Present:  Robert Anderson, Mary Biggs, Richard Blumberg, Nancy Lasher, Monisha Pulimood, Piper Williams, Karen Yan, and Rosa Zagari-Marinzoli

  1. The minutes of October 15th were approved as corrected.  The minutes of November 5th were approved as corrected (adding the names of excused members and deleting 'Kendrix' from Piper Williams' preferred identification.  Bob Anderson agreed to contact Prof. David Prensky about the need for additional information about his MGT 215, Introduction to Leadership proposal, on which action had been postponed at the October 15th LLPC meeting.
  2. WGS 374, Ecofeminism was approved for world views and ways of knowing, gender, and community engaged learning.  The vote was unanimous without abstentions.
  3. AFA 365, Book Arts was approved for literary, visual, and performing arts and global.  The vote was unanimous without abstentions.
  4. SOC 302, Quantitative Research Methods, having been previously referred to LLPC by the Quantitative Reasoning Committee, was approved for quantitative reasoning.  The vote was unanimous without abstentions.
  5. Adjournment was at 2:30.  The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 3rd at 1:30 in SB 131.
