David Schneider
Adjunct Instructor of Music (Oboe)
B.M., Oboe Performance, Philadelphia Music Academy
David Schneider is an Adjunct Instructor of Music at TCNJ where he teaches:
- MUS 206: Intermediate Private Oboe Lessons
- MUS 306: Advanced Private Oboe Lessons
- MUS 406: Advanced Private Oboe Lessons
He is also on the music faculty of the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia and Rowen University, and he maintains a private studio.
As a performer, Mr. Schneider is Principal Oboe with both The Opera Company of Philadelphia and Peter Nero and the Philly Pops. He is a regular substitute with The Philadelphia Orchestra and is an active freelance musician. In addition, Mr. Schneider was substitute Principal Second Oboe with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and has been Principal Oboe with the Mozart Society of Philadelphia, Utah Festival Opera Company, Princeton Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and the Delaware, Reading, and Lancaster Symphony Orchestras.
Highlights of Mr. Schneider’s commercial experience include being selected to tour with Frank Sinatra, recording and performing with Tony Bennett, recording with Lou Rawls and Johnny Mathis, and recording for The Sound of Philadelphia (TSOP). In addition, Mr. Schneider is a founding member of The Fairmount Woodwind Quintet, an ensemble in service to Strings for Schools and Settlement Music School educational outreach programs. He gives extensive clinics and performances in the Philadelphia area and surrounding region.
