Housing: 


University Housing

The ten-story building houses up to 360 students with separate accommodations and entrances for male and female students.   Student rooms have two beds, desks, chairs, closets, heat and air conditioning. Each room has a telephone.

Housing fee includes and obligatory charge of $20 for local telephone usage and $90 for the AUC shuttle bus between campus and the residence hall.


Off-Campus Housing

Moderately-priced furnished apartments in Cairo rent for about $240 to $400 a month, depending on size and location.   Services such as utilities, telephone and air conditioning are extra.   Students frequently share apartments, thus reducing the cost per person.

Five days a week AUC cafeterias serve hot meals and snacks for about $6 per meal.

For entry to Egypt , a student must obtain a tourist visa from the Egyptian consulate in their area.   After registering at AUC, the student will receive instructions on how to obtain a student visa.
