Virtual Orientation
Transfer Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students to attend. The event provides an opportunity to make your schedule, meet new students, and have your questions about TCNJ answered. However, if you are unable to attend your assigned orientation day due to an important event or activity we have created this page to serve as a repository for orientation-related information and to serve as a resource for those unable to attend.
1. E-Mail and Technology Resources (Activate your TCNJ E-mail!)
To find out what your TCNJ e-mail and password are, visit Account Lookup. TCNJ e-mail is considered the official form of communication at the College. It is your responsibility to read College e-mails. It is possible to forward your TCNJ e-mail to another account that you might check more frequently.
2. Registration
On the day that you were scheduled to attend orientation, you will have access to register for your Fall classes via TESS. You may continue to make changes to your schedule through the add/drop period which ends September 3. We would caution that you do not make any course changes without advisement.
Also, you will need to verify your attendance by answering the attendance confirmation question through TESS.
3. Advisement
All students are asked to contact either their Department Chair or Assistant Dean. Please click here for a directory.
4. Student Accounts
Check the Student Accounts website for information on tuition and fees, bills, due dates, refund policies and payment plans, plus student ID cards and parking stickers. Tuition bills will be sent out via email in July.
5. Student Financial Assistance
Check the Student Financial Assistance website regarding deadlines and process to apply for financial aid.
6. Health Services and Student Insurance
Students are required to complete health forms and submit immunization records to the Health Services office prior to the start of the semester. A registration hold will be placed on accounts of those students who have not provided this information.
Please be sure to read this important information about Student Health Insurance. All full-time students will automatically be billed a health insurance fee. If you elect to waive this coverage, please be sure to follow the waiver procedures and deadlines.
7. Library
For library hours and an orientation to resources and services, please visit the library website.
