Hold Flags
A hold flag is an obligation which will prevent you from registering and will prevent you from receiving a transcript. The Office of Records and Registration cannot remove hold flags placed by other “entry offices.” The “entry office” as noted on TESS is the primary office that placed the hold flag and should be contacted directly to clear the hold flag(s) prior to registration. If you have an Advisor Hold Flag and are intending to change your major prior to registration you must contact your current academic department to remove the hold flag. The department may require documentation that you have been approved by the new major before removing the hold flag.

The “entry office” as noted on TESS is the primary office that placed the hold flag and should be contacted directly to clear the hold flag(s) prior to registration. Listed below is contact information for the more prominent entry offices. Please note that Placement Test “holds” are informational only and will not prohibit you from registering.
