Student Withdrawal Process
Spring 2008
If you need to withdraw from one course (and you are taking
other courses), you need to download the Course Withdrawal Form
for Fouth-Quarter Courses ONLY.
If you need to withdraw or take a leave of absence from The College of New Jersey, you must do the following:
- Complete an Intent to Withdraw Form. After we receive the form, we will start the withdrawal/leave process and will contact you to schedule a telephone withdrawal interview (ONLY if not returning).
- Participate in a withdrawal interview with a member of the Records & Registration staff (if you are an undergraduate).
- If you have any loans, it will be necessary for you to complete Exit Loan Counseling as described in the Student Loan Information Packet . If you fail to complete this Exit Loan Counseling, holds may be placed on your records preventing you from registering for classes at TCNJ and from receiving transcripts from the College for transfer and employment purposes.
- If you are a resident student, you must move out of your room within 48 hours of the date of your withdrawal/leave from the College. You will continue to be charged for your room until you check out and return your key. Please contact your Residence Director immediately to discuss the arrangements for your departure.
- If you are withdrawing due to military activitation, please review the Military Withdrawal Policy.
- If you are withdrawing due to illness, injury or for psychological reasons and you purchased Tuition Refund Insurance, you may pick up the form you need to process your claim at the Office of Records & Registration. A staff member will guide you regarding this procedure.
- Please consult TCNJ Refund and Repayment Policy regarding grades and refunds for withdrawals.
