Upper Class Experience

Housing options available to junior and senior year students are as follows:


Townhouses South, East & West

These townhouse complexes holds 750 beds and accommodate upper-class students. Each house holds 10 students, all with single bedrooms. Each house has a main living room, and each of the three floors has its own bathroom, shower, full refrigerator, microwave, common area and the top two floors have a seperate common area sink.

On the first floor of each townhouse there is a furnished house lounge, including a table, chairs, sofa and love seat. Most house lounges are equipped with ethernet and cable jacks.

Laundry facilities, hall offices and main lounges (with a full kitchen) are available in the complex as well.

 


Eickhoff Hall

Opened in 1992, Eickhoff Hall combines student residence space and student services. The main level includes an 800-seat, sky-lit dining hall

1884, 1898, 1904, 1908, 1910, 1914, 1920, 1924 and 1942 Pennington Ave
46, 60 and 62 Carlton Ave

These houses located within walking distance to The College provides housing for 6-7 residents per house. Note: 1884, 1898 and 1942 Pennington Ave residents are not permitted to have a vehicle parked near their house.

Facilities

  • Housing is only available while classes are in session
  • Students may not use any adhesive materials on the walls, doors or ceilings
  • Double and single bedrooms, living room, kitchen/dining area with two bathrooms
  • Washer and drier located in each house

Furnishings

  • Bedroom: desk and chair, desk lamp, dresser, extra long twin bed and wardrobe or closet
  • Dining Room: tables and chairs
  • Living Room: sofa, chairs (except 60 Carlton), coffee table, table lamp and shelf lamp (in some locations only)
  • Kitchen: refrigerator, oven, stove and microwave
  • Cleaning Accessories: vacuum, mop, toilet brush, dust pan and broom
  • Students must provide their own linens, kitchen utensils, small appliances, cleaning solvents and personal items.

Utilities

  • Gas/Oil heat and electricity included
  • The College has contracted telephone service through Verizon for all houses. New tenants must contact Verizon prior to move in to have phone account put in individual name. If not done, phone service will be disconnected.
  • Cable is provided in all student rooms through Comcast Cablevision
  • Internet and e-mail services are available for students with a modem. For more information on how to dial into The College's network, see TCNJ's ResidentialNetworking Services .

Security

  • Front, back and individual bedroom lock doors.
  • Apartments are alarmed
  • For lockouts you may sign out a spare key from the New Res. Hall Office (x5533)
  • 911 calls to Ewing Police for emergency assistance
  • Lost key will result in $400 lock change, charged to  the individual student

Parking

  • Parking is permitted on site at each house (with the exception of 1884,1898,1904, 1908, 1910, and 1942 Pennington Road houses)
  • No cars may be left over college break periods
  • Cars must have valid registration and insurance
  • Students purchase commuter parking permit for campus (Check with Parking Services for price).

Mail

  • Student's mail should be addressed the street address of the house - NOT The College of New Jersey

Room Changes

  • A request for a room change within the the 9 houses or into central campus housing may be facilitated through the Residence Director.

Maintenance

  • Call the TSC Corporation office at 609-771-3312.
  • For emergencies after hours (between 4:30pm-8am) follow the instructions listed in the emergency call section provided at check-in.
  • Students are billed individually for damages in their rooms and collectively for damages in common areas by Building Services

Directions

All houses are located either on Pennington Ave (the street of the main entrance of The College) or Carlton Ave, the street directly across from the main entrance.
