David Kong Major: Biology. Minor: Chemistry. Interdisciplinary Concentration in Asian Studies. Class of 2008. Enrolled into the College of New Jersey, August 2004. Began my college career as Open Options School of Science. Clubs: Tri-Beta Honor Society, Asian American Association, Chinese Culture Club, Intramural Softball. The reason why I chose to be Open Options School of Science: I was not ready to commit to a major, which I was not 100% sure that I wanted. I have always found science very fascinating. At the same time, psychology also interested me and I was not ready to commit to one. I was leaning more towards the Biology major, so I chose to take classes that were on track with the Biology major. I also took a psychology class as an elective just to see how I would like it. After my first year, I realized that Biology was the right major for me. Sophomore year, I was accepted into the Biology program, and I have been happy with my decision ever since that time. Coming into TCNJ as Open Option Science gave me time to figure out what each major had to offer and also helped me to decide which was the right major for me. Research Experience: - Summer 2006.
