Immediate Need for Intern The immediate project has to do with summarizing and analyzing stakeholder testimony related to changes in site remediation rules taken at public hearings this past summer. Once the testimony is analyzed, it will need to be sifted and compared to what other states in similar situations to New Jersey may be doing. _/*THIS IS NOT GRUNT WORK*/_. It requires analytical thinking, writing and computer skills. Two to three interns may be required for this work. NJDEP is willing to offer payment for this work. They may also be willing to cooperate with an institution that would be willing to grant college credit for this effort. The students may be supervised by an NJDEP scientist who will most likely have a Ph.D. in a relevant field. Students interested in public policy, environmental science, engineering and/or economic redevelopment are preferred. Another intern position is also available to compile information and do an analysis of the progress related to the implementation of the Hudson River Walkway in Hudson County. This position is less urgent at this time. When first announced more than a decade ago, this Walkway concept received international acclaim. Unfortunately, because of the property ownership realities along the Hudson River, it is implemented one property at a time as they are transferred or when developers are required to obtain development permit approvals. The same conditions as above apply to this internship position. To be considered for one of these internships contact: Martin Bierbaum, Director Municipal Land Use Center @ The College of New Jersey (609) 771-2832
