Graduate Newsletter - Spring 2008 Dear Readers,
As many of you reading this may know, TCNJ has over 25 years of experience in providing graduate education and professional development for international educators. A significant percentage of current teachers and administrators in international schools are graduates of TCNJ's competitive and highly regarded programs. To continue the long tradition of providing for international educators, we have recently added new scholarships, programs, and procedures to address the needs of the international community. We hope that you are well and that this newsletter proves informative and helpful to you as you continue your graduate work with us at The College of New Jersey.
One exciting change for Mallorca in the summer of 2008 is that we will be offering a number of courses in special education that will count towards College programs in that area and may lead to a College certificate of specialization in special education. Also, in Bangkok and Johannesburg, we are expanding our offerings in educational administration to make it possible for students to earn their post-master certification by combining study in those sites and Mallorca. Global
Graduate Programs It is important to know your status as a TCNJ global student. Remember, a visiting student may only enroll in up to (3) courses or (9) credit hours, then he /she must formally apply for matriculation to complete his / her program. A matriculated student has already completed the online application and has been notified of acceptance into a certificate program or a master's degree program. If you have already submitted an application, but have not received notification, or if you want to inquire whether your application is complete, please email Maratea@tcnj.edu . A complete application has the following included: * $60 application fee * Completed application submitted online * (2) Letters of recommendations * Student essay * Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended * TOEFL test scores if you are a non-native English speaker and have not graduated from an English speaking college or university. * GRE test scores if you are applying to a master's program and do not already meet one of the following requirements: 1. Hold another master's degree from an accredited institution as evaluated by WES 2. Completed a TCNJ certification program with a min. GPA of 3.67 Certification Program vs. Master's Program Global students who are completing a Certification Program this summer refer to www.tcnj.edu/~graduate/global/certification.html for additional information. To do this, do the following: * Go to www.tcnj.edu/goglobal , Graduate School Application * DO NOT include: letters of recommendation (only enter two names under this section), transcripts, or an application fee, as those items should already have been submitted with your first application. The deadline for application submission is February 18, 2008. Late applications will be accepted though this may affect the availability of your physical certificate at the global site.
