HEALTH BENEFITS FOR ELIGIBLE PART-TIME EMPLOYEES
Part-time employees of The College of New Jersey, who are currently enrolled in a State administered pension plan, are eligible to enroll in the State Health Benefits Program's (SHBP) NJ Direct 15 Plan, and the Employee Prescription Drug Plan.
Enrollment Period
An enrollment application should be completed within 60 days of the date that you become enrolled in the State retirement system. Employees who do not enroll when they are first eligible can later enroll during the regular, annual open enrollment period.
Coverage Effective Date
Coverage will start in accordance with the standard SHPB waiting period rules for State monthly employees (usually 60 days).
How to Enroll
In order to enroll, employees must complete a Health Benefits Application for Part-Time employees and return it to the Office of Human Resources, Room 101, Administrative Building . Please note when opening application document, the form will print on standard letter-sized paper (8½ x 11).

Cost of Insurance
Eligible employees who enroll will pay the full share premium costs, which will be billed directly to the employee on a monthly basis as follows:

Prescription Plan
Single $132.27
Member and Spouse $297.85

Parent/Children $185.33
Limitations
Eligible employees who wish to enroll in the Prescription Drug Plan must also enroll in the NJ Direct 15 Plan.
COBRA Eligibility Upon Termination
Please note that upon termination from employment, employees will be sent COBRA applications and will be able to continue participation in the insurance program under the federal COBRA regulations.
