Translating news stories into English

  1. 1) If Google is your default search engine, you can open a web page and right click to use the "Translate into English" feature. While this will certainly not produce a polished translation, it should give the gist of an article.
  2. 2) A news story can also be pasted into a Microsoft Word document and translated into English using "WorldLingo," a free download available through Microsoft. To download WorldLingo use the "Tools" menu in Word, select "Language" then "Translate." At the bottom of the tool bar go to "Translate via the Web" and select "more translation services," hit the go button, and follow directions for WorldLingo.
