Appealing Fines
If you are appealing a fine from the 2007-2008 academic year, you must do so prior to July 7, 2008. No other appeals for this period will be granted.
To obtain ONLY an itemization of the charges, you can e-mail the Summer Billing Manager at halldmgs@tcnj.edu or you may submit a written request to the address listed below. Please make sure your request includes the following information: full name, building and room number of residential assignment(s), and student ID number.
To initiate the appeal process for a damage charge assessed to your account, you must submit your appeal in writing to the address listed below. Appeals will not be considered unless they are submitted by the student whose account has been charged. Parents and others are welcome to provide relevant supporting documentation, however in order for the appeal to be considered it must be submitted and written by the student.
You may appeal charges for room damages that were not incurred during your stay in the room or if one of the former occupants is willing to accept full responsibility for the damage. Please note that appropriate documentation will be required from any individual(s) taking responsibility for damages (this documentation must have the individual's signature, student ID number and contact information). Please know that common area damages cannot be appealed. Due to the high volume of work, please allow three business days to receive a response regarding your appeal. If your appeal is accepted it may take 7-10 days to be reflected on your account.
