Democratic Leadership Council: Development Department

The Development department administers an active program of meetings and events for its donors, with PPI scholars, administration officials, legislators and top policymakers. This programming offers development interns a chance to learn not only about the mechanics of fund-raising in Washington, but also to listen to policy discussions with the people who make it.

Interns working with Development will:

• Generate membership notices, invoices, invitations, and follow-up correspondence
• Assist with preparation, staffing needs, and follow-up for major DLC events: Spring Retreat, National Conversation and the Fall Dinner
• Call through membership lists for attendance totals
• Generate reports and lists as needed
• File correspondence and relevant membership papers
• Assist in all planning and follow-up aspects for Roundtable and Board of Advisors membership meetings and briefings
• Assist in recruitment of new DLC members through list generation, phone calls, compiling of prospects folders and event planning

To apply for an internship, fill out their internship application form.

Deadlines for applications are rolling except for summer. Please submit summer applications by March 1st. Applicants outside the tri-state area (DC-MD-VA) must be 18 years or older to participate in the DLC-PPI internship program.
