National Women’s Law Center - Child Care Internships

The National Women's Law Center is seeking undergraduate volunteers who are available to work 35 hours or more per week.

The Center is seeking interns for their Child Care Group. The Child Care interns’ responsibilities will include assisting in Center outreach activities, helping to organize child care conferences, in addition to helping to conduct research and assisting with newsletter articles.

The National Women's Law Center is a non-profit legal advocacy organization that works to advance the rights of women, particularly the rights of low-income women and girls. The primary focus areas include education, employment, family economic security and health.

Students with majors in English, education, political science, pre-law and women's studies are encouraged to apply; however, all majors will be considered.

Applications are due no later than December 1, 2006 for Spring 2007 internships and no later than March 15, 2007 for Summer 2007 internships. To apply, please send: (1) a current resume; (2) a cover letter indicating dates and times available for work; (3) a transcript or list of grades; (4) names of three references (preferably an employer or professor) with current addresses and telephone numbers and (5) a writing sample to the address below. No calls please. We do not conduct on-campus interviews. We do, however, arrange telephone interviews. Center staff will contact you as soon as your application is complete.
