Vital Voices Global Partnership - Development Internship

Vital Voices Global Partnership believes in the transformative value of women’s participation in society. We invest in emerging women leaders – pioneers of economic, political, and social advancement in their countries – and build the capabilities, connections, and credibility they need to reach their potential as catalysts of global progress.

The Vital Voices Development team seeks an intern for the 2007 Summer Semester. This is an unpaid internship and requires a commitment of 30 hours per week.

Working closely with the development team, the development intern will receive exposure to the many facets of nonprofit fundraising, from grant-seeking to event planning. She or he will assist development staff with a variety of tasks, including the design, production, and packaging of donor mailings; maintenance of donor records, including database records and hard files; gift processing, and special event coordination.

Qualifications:

• An interest in and knowledge of women’s rights and international development
• Strong organizational, editing and writing skills
• Computer proficiency, preferably in MS Word and MS Excel
• Ability and willingness to handle material of a confidential nature
• Ability to work creatively and effectively as a member of a team

An internship with the Vital Voices development team presents an opportunity not only to learn about nonprofit fundraising, but also to learn about current, pressing global women’s issues and international women’s advocacy.
