Final Examinations
A comprehensive evaluation period be established during the final week of the Fall and Spring semesters as follows:
- All courses will complete the semester with a comprehensive course evaluation. The normal expectation is that a final examination will be given during the comprehensive course evaluation period. In those courses that do not lend themselves to this format, an alternative arrangement may be approved by the department chairperson.
- An outline of all grading measures, including the comprehensive course evaluation, will be included in the grading policy for each class.
- The comprehensive course evaluation will not count for less than thirty or more than sixty percent of the final grade, unless an exception is approved by the department chairperson.
- Faculty shall have at least 72 hours after the comprehensive course evaluation is completed to submit course grades.
- The schedule shall be arranged so that classes will end on a Friday with Saturday, Sunday, and Monday as a reading period. The comprehensive course evaluation period will be five days, ending on a Saturday. A two hour time block will be scheduled for each comprehensive course evaluation.
