[10.18.06] --The Eastern State Penitentiary trip this past Sunday with CUB was a success and a whole lot of fun! --ACM is trying to put together a tech team for the spring semester, which would provide services to the students, faculty, and staff. The probable hours of this will be from 10am-6pm and, for emergencies only, from 7:30-10am and from 6pm-2am. Any interested parties must be available for a minimum of 4 hours per week and should either email Kate at lynch3@tcnj.edu or the ACM account at ACM@tcnj.edu. For each call answered, the responding individual(s) will each receive a point on their Tech Team Member Account and at the end of the year, gifts will be given to those with the most points. --The ACM Halloween Party will take place on October 28th from 8pm-12am in the Norsworthy Lounge and will include free food, movies, and games. Feel free to wear a costume! --ACM will be hosting a Video Game-a-thon on November 16th, from 7:30pm-11:30pm in Holman Hall, Room Number 252-253. The cost for attendance is $3, but those who volunteer to help setup will enter free. We are asking that anyone who has any equipment that they would like to donate, such as consoles, controllers, power strips, and games, to contact acm@tcnj.edu or lynch3@tcnj.edu. There will be security at the event to protect the loaned equipment and those who do loan any type of equipment will receive some kind of gift. --On Friday, October 27th, WICS is asking for any members of ACM to come and help prepare metalwork and jewelry to sell at the joint fundraiser between WICS and ACM. This will take place in Holman Hall at 2pm. --The Digital Fortress LAN Party, which will take place on November 3, is approaching fast. The website is up and if you haven't registered yet, you should do so quickly as there are a limited number of spots. Also, the equipment testing this past week was a success. However, we are in desperate need of hard drives and we asking for anyone who is willing to loan any, with a minimum of 10 gigabytes, to email the ACM account at: acm@tcnj.edu. --Also, the PHP workshop will be taking place on November 10th, from 3-4pm, in 374B in Holman Hall. --Next week, there will be no ACM meeting. Make sure you come to some of the events taking place next week instead! Hope you all have a great fall break! Genevieve |
