Hey everyone,

Sorry it took so long for me to send the minutes out this week. My
computer was being stubborn.

February 7th, 2006 Minutes:

-We will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Gift Sale on February 9th, 12th, and
13th from 9am-5pm in the Student Center. Those who are interested in
volunteering should contact Kate as soon as possible.

-On February 14th, from 7pm-12am in the Cromwell Main Lounge, we will be
hosting the Valentine’s Day Video Game Fest. The regular entrance fee is
$3, but those who come as a couple will only have to pay $2. Besides this,
the regular discount rules for admission remains the same. Also, we are
still in need of some equipment, including controllers and powerstrips.

-The computer science department at TCNJ will be having an open house for
the newly accepted students on March 31. It will be a type of question
and answer session and if anyone is interested in representing the ACM,
please speak to Kate.

-ACM and Microsoft Research are sponsoring a Student Research Competition
at PLDI 2007. The website for this event is: www.acm.org/src/. Anyone
interested should check out the site for eligibility requirements and
other important information.

-On March 28th, Ricardo Miranda will be speaking about AJAX, PHP, and
programming and design in the library auditorium.

-The opening for the library auditorium reservation went to Andy Stutzman
of Enterprise Applications. On March 8th, at 4pm, he will be speaking
about the job prospects and the job field for computer science majors.

-According to the treasurer’s report, the ACM has made a good profit from
both the Final Frag and the jewelry sale and we may plan an outing in the
future with this money.

-The ACM tech team, which will be run by Chris, Paul, and Andrew, has
turned into more of a way to teach others about computers.

-There is no meeting next week. See you all at the Video Game Night!!

See you all next Wednesday at the event!
