March 7, 2007 - General Meeting Minutes

-The “You Broke Our Heart” Video Game Fest, which
took place last Thursday, was a great success. A
special thank you to all those who attended,
participated, loaned equipment, helped set up, and
helped clean up. -On Thursday, March 8th, from
4-5 pm, Andy Stutzman will be doing a presentation,
“IT Job Opportunities in Higher Ed” in the library
auditorium 017.

-On March 21st, from 10-11 am, Bernard Yee is doing
a presentation on Guitar Hero in either the Library
Auditorium or in Holman Hall. If anyone is interested
in attending, please contact Dr. DePasquale as soon
as possible.

-If anyone is interested in displaying their knowledge
of computers and electronics by participating in the
Geek Auction, please email Kate for more information.
This event is an important fundraiser for the ACM and
is an excellent way to build up your resume.

-At the second to last meeting of the semester, we
will be holding elections for the executive board for
the next semester. The positions include President,
Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasury and the last
meeting of the semester will be run by the new board
members.

-Thus far, the club has earned a running total of
$795.00 in fundraising. The ACM is interested in
using this money to coordinate an event. We are
thinking of planning a bus trip to NYC, doing a middle
school outreach program, or updating the ACM library.
Also, we are going to start a point system, where you
can earn points by participating in the events, workshops,
and lectures and, if you earn a total of 10 points, you will
not have to pay the fee for the trip.

-Upcoming fundraising activities include the Super Smash
Brothers Tournament, which will occur on March 22, the Pi
Day Celebration on March 30, and the Video Game Night on
April 5. Also, we are considering working a food stand at
an event at the Sovereign Bank Arena in the future.

-There is no meeting next week! The next meeting will take
place on the Wednesday following spring break. Matthew Winkel
is going to attend this particular meeting in order to get vital
feedback from the members of the ACM regarding the Library Website.

-Enjoy your spring break!! ;)
