March 21, 2007 --> General Meeting Minutes

-The presentation by Andy Stutzman was a great success
and a large number of people attended. Kate will be
posting the presentation on the ACM website in the weeks
to come.

-The elections for next semester will occur on the second
to last meeting of this year. Anyone who is interested in
running for a position must hand in the paperwork by the
meeting this upcoming Wednesday.

-March 31 is accepted students day, which takes place from
9 am – 1 pm and this event includes a complementary breakfast
and lunch for those who opt to participate. As of now, we
need one ACM member to work an information station and hand
out ACM fliers and two members to give a tour of the computer
science department. Anyone who is interested in helping out
should email the ACM account.

-Alex Macklin, who is involved with Katrina relief work,
emailed concerning Cylone, who is looking for a person who
has experience in C# and ASP.net for a part-time job.

-The Super Smash Brothers Tournament is rescheduled for April
5th in the TW Main Lounge and is from 7 pm – 12 pm. Registration
for this event is at 7 pm and the actual game play starts at
8pm. We are asking for several pieces of equipment, including
Gamecubes, Smash Brothers Melee, Gamecube controllers, and Wiis
and anyone who donates this equipment will receive free admission.

-On March 30, the ACM is hosting an event for PI day from 12 pm –
7 pm, with a number of different activities and tables involving
the number pi. Those who attend will have the opportunity to
compete for pi-day prizes. We are asking for volunteers to help
man the tables and coordinate the other events.

-The Geek Auction will take place on April 11 in the BSC West 202.
The publicity for this event will begin next week and anyone who is
interested in becoming an auctionee should sign up now.

-In the future, the ACM will use some of the money it raised
fundraising in order to go on a trip to NYC, where we will receive
a tour of NASDAQ, visit the Apple and Nintendo World stores, go to
the Museum of the Moving Image, and eat dinner at Ninja NY.

See you all next week,
