What is ACT?
All College Theatre (ACT) is an entirely student-run organization for students interested in acting, directing, technical production, costumes, props, set construction, lighting, sound, programs, house management, and other facets of theatre.
We are entirely student-run and have weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 2 PM in Kendall Hall, room 134. We have no official membership requirements; all are welcome to attend our meetings. Executive decisions are made by a five-member student board composed of a president, vice-president, treasurer, publicist and secretary. The board is elected at the end of each academic year by the membership of ACT and serves the entirety of the following year.
Our annual season includes two full, professionally directed productions, one each in the fall and spring; a production of student-directed, one-act plays in the fall; and a murder mystery dinner and monologue and scene competition, both in the spring. In conjunction with TCNJ's chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, the national theatre honor society, we occasionally offer instructional clinics in various aspects of theatre. We also sponsor a number of social events to allow our members to build lasting relationships with each other and promote solidarity as an organization.
