Urban Specimens in Zero Age, Beijing, China
October 11th to October 24th, 2008
Zero Age refers to the period from 2000 to 2009. Zero not only indicates time, but also implies the spiritual qualifications of this period. As a matter of fact, the images and the meanings underlying them have been transforming, thus constituting the massive sign system , somewhat like hormone, or formalin, which immerses the whole urbanity. In this context, this exhibition will put into the limelight the geo-specimens of changing urbanity, collected in cities from both sides of the Pacific Ocean, in the hope to discover the values of subjects and artistic discourse and their possibilities for further development.
