1984 Twenty-Fifth Reunion
Can you believe we have a 25th reunion coming up? I hope you can all join me at Reunion Weekend on May 1 – May 3, 2009. Please save the date - I did and I’ll be looking for you there. Maybe our paths have crossed before on the athletic fields or Packer Hall or a math class in Holman Hall. Maybe we’ve seen each other at the pinball machines in Brower Student Center or in the residence halls of Decker or “the Pit.” Maybe the Library - I’ve been there a few times - or the computer center in the basement of Green Hall - been there a few too many times.
Have you been to the College recently? It really has grown and it is beautiful - you should make a point of seeing it (like, maybe in May 2009!) or show it off to your family. With all the national press that TCNJ has been getting, I’m even more proud to say I went to school there. As class agent, I am also part of the Reunion Planning Committee. I would like to encourage you to support the College with a gift to commemorate our class anniversary. Reunion classes compete for the greatest alumni participation rate and the most dollars donated by classes between July 1, 2008 – April 15, 2009. For those who don’t know, I played softball for my four years at the College and just the word compete “gets the juices flowing.”
I always make it a point to donate at least once a year, whatever I can afford at that time. I’m going to donate $84.00 this year, in honor of our class. If that’s not feasible for you, then maybe $19.84 will work. If you’ve never donated before, maybe the year of our 25th anniversary can be the year. Donating is easy online at www.tcnj.edu/give; and don’t forget your donation is tax-deductible. Your place of employment may even match your gift.
I can’t help but think back to all the fond memories and life lessons I learned on the field and in the classroom. That short time between 1980 and 1984 has helped shape me into the person that I am today. I feel, when I donate, that I’m investing in another student’s development and future, maybe someone like you or me.
