My work depicts a mythology and world of my own creation that centers on the legends of individual characters. I have always been inspired by fantasy, and as a child it was only natural for me to begin to create my own stories. Over the years, these stories have grown into a world that is monumental in scope, and that world is the driving force behind the majority of my work.
I work in a style I call surreal fantasy, a term I use to differentiate myself from the classic genre of high fantasy. I am fascinated with the strange, the macabre, and the beautiful; the universe is as cruel as it is magnificent and the content of my images and the structure of the world itself reflect this. My characters are portrayed with a focus on pathos and narration, slowly unfolding the story and the world with each new image. I blend traditional archetypes with surreal undertones to bring my work beyond superficial storytelling, struggling to create a world that feels believably fantastic.
