He has taught since 1963 and is currently the Coordinator of the Photography Program in the Art Department. He has a BA in Art Education, from Montclair University, an MA in Communications Film and Television, from New York University and an MFA in Studio Art from Rutgers University.
Kenneth has taught on the college level since 1967 in the areas of Art Education, Film Making, Television Production, Multi-Media Production, Educational Media, Communications, Studio Photography, Documentary Photography, Art Photography, The History of Photography, Drawing and Figure Drawing. Previously he was the Chairman of the Department of Media Communication Science.
Kenneth has exhibited his drawings, photographs, sculpture, and prints in over 21 One Person Exhibitions including those at The New Jersey State Museum, America House Frankfurt Germany, Johnson and Johnson World Headquarters, Merrill Lynch, The Hunterdon Art Center, and Princeton University. He has also been exhibited in over thirty group shows. His work is in numerous permanent collections including the New Jersey State Museum, The Hunterdon Art Center and the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission. He has received grants from The College of New Jersey, Frankfurt University, and the New Jersey State Council On The Arts, and has won numerous awards and stipends.
His work has been published in two photographic text books, Creative Color Photography and Photographic Possibilities. They have also appeared in the New Jersey Poetry Journal, numerous annual reports and in books on Relief Printing and Needle Point.
In addition Professor Kaplowitz has been the Faculty Adviser for the College yearbook, for the past 14 years and has helped to publish over 12,000 issues.
