Faculty: Ruane Miller
Ruane Miller is a Professor of Art at The College of New Jersey where she has taught since 1986. She has served as Chairperson of the Art Department and as Coordinator of both the Fine Arts and Digital Arts programs. She received MFA degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY (Computer Graphics Design) and Tyler School of Art, Rome, Italy (Painting/Printmaking) and a BFA degree from Tyler in Philadelphia. She has taught on the college level since 1977 at various institutions in the areas of Digital Arts, Fine Arts, and Art History. She currently teaches Digital Arts Imaging I and Imaging II, and Fine Arts research projects.
Ruane has exhibited her work extensively in solo and group exhibits, curated and juried. Her work is in numerous private collections here and abroad and in the following public collections: the print collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Museum of Art, San Francisco, and the Mercer County, New Jersey, Cultural Commission Permanent Collection. Her work has been recognized through numerous awards, grants, and fellowships. She has been awarded competitive artist residency fellowships by the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming, by the Vermont Studio Center’s Geraldine R. Dodge Awards, and most recently by the Petrified Forest National Park Artist Residency Program in Arizona.
Her recent work is concentrated in digital imaging and digital printmaking and includes a new series of panoramic digital prints.
