I am a new ASA member. I applaud the effort to promulgate a code of ethics. My graduate thesis is in part a compendium of both deliberate and inadvertent misuse of data in pursuit of policy agendas.

Data demagoguery is nothing new, but it is harmful, making everyone utterly cynical about empirical reasoning.
