Research Assignment__________________________________________________
From a random drawing, you will select a designer and research his/her
contribution to the history of the design profession with which they are
associated. This profile should take the form of a short article of about
500 to 1000 words. It should be presented in a two (2) or three (3) column
format, and should include:
1. a picture of the designer;
2. pictures of some of the products or innovations for which they
are known;
3. biographical data;
4. a philosophical basis for designer's work;
5. a concise description of the society and times in which the
designer lives/ed and works/ed.;
6. a bibliography that is alphabetized and numbered, and;
7. references in the text that use the bibliographic number in
parenthesis.
The article should be word-processed on 8 1/2" x 11" paper. The cover
should feature the designer's name and a picture of a well-known example
of his or her work, and identify the author. The entire profile package
should incorporate appropriate graphic elements to draw in and hold the
attention of the reader. It should exemplify the balance between textual
content and aesthetic value
