Mission Statement
Alpha Chi Rho is a national mens' collegiate fraternity whose purpose is to enhance the lifelong intellectual, moral, and social development of our members through the guidance of our Landmarks.
Landmarks
Membership from among those who are prepared to realize in word and deed, the Brotherhood of all men.
The insistence on a high and clean moral standard.
The paramount duty of Brotherly love among members.
Judgment not by externals, but by intrinsic worth; no one is denied membership in Alpha Chi Rho because of race, creed, or nationality.
RUSH!
The first step in joining the Phi Gamma Chi chapter of Alpha Chi Rho is to rush. Check out the News Page for dates and times. Rushing is where interested students can get to know the fraternity, the brothers, and an overall sense of Greek life at TCNJ.
Postulants
A Postulant is a new member participating in the educational period of membership. This is the time where he learns about the landmarks of Alpha Chi Rho and the responsibilities of brotherhood. During this time, like any other, we strictly enforce state, campus, and fraternity laws against hazing. Under these laws, no chapter of Alpha Chi Rho shall conduct hazing.
Definition of Hazing: "Any action taken or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off fraternity premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Such activities may include but are not limited to the following: use of alcohol; paddling in any form; creation of excessive fatigue; physical and psychological shocks; quests, treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, road trips or any other such activities carried on outside or inside the confines of the chapter house; wearing of public apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste, engaging in public stunts and buffoonery; morally degrading or humiliating games and activities; and any other activities which are not constant with fraternal law, ritual or policy or the regulations and policies of the educational institution."
