This site is devoted to discovering links to sites that research and
publicize works on Imperialism, both positive and negative, although
this page will try and emphasize the negative aspects of Imperialism.
"Imperialism" will be defined as the total domination of one country by
another, especially if the nations are not contiguous. The expansion of
one nation's military to other nations if for no other reason the
ability, the total economic conquest of an undeveloped nations economy
by industrial giants, or cultural limitations fettered to an indigenous
people.
European Imperialism, which ended roughly 50 years ago, can be
considered the direct or the indirect cause of the struggle of many
modern developing countries. Nations such as Congo were raped by their
colony overlords, as their entire country was turned into a pool of
slave labor that the Belgians could use to harvest rubber and raw goods.
