Student Teaching Introduction

This semester, I student taught at Seneca High School in Tabernacle New Jersey.  I worked with two cooperating teachers:  Katie Witts and Ken Zerone.  I taught two Geometry Level 3 courses, two Algebra Level 2 courses, and one HSPA II Level 4 course.  I had an extremely positive experience at Seneca High School, and my experience has helped me develop into the teacher I am today.

Seneca High School is located in Tabernacle, New Jersey.  Seneca High School is the newest of four suburban high schools in the Lenape Regional High School District, opening in September of 2003.  The school prides itself on its challenging curriculum, programs offered for students, advancements in technology, and supportive staff.  In general, the students seem very involved in the school, as 90% of over 1,400 students are involved in athletics and/or extra-curricular activities.  The staff work very closely together and collaborate on ideas and plans to provide effective lessons, many of which are interdisciplinary lessons.  The parents and community play a fairly active role in the education and support of the students.
