A teacher should continuously help students make connections between previous knowledge and current topics.  This is the only way to cultivate the conceptual understanding that is required for students to apply their knowledge while solving new problems.

bullet It is important to engage and hold on to students' interest throughout the instructional period.

bullet Technology is a valuable tool that enhances students’ understanding of complex mathematical ideas.

bullet Students must analyze the effectiveness of technology and develop beliefs regarding when and how it is best used.
