Website Design Proposal

Introduction:
This
Website is designed to be a functional site for my classes, friends, and
employers as well as providing creative inspiration for other people who enjoy
making crafts.
Web Site Theme:
The
theme of my website will be crafts. Although the main page will be functional
for personal information, a major component will be the crafting section. A
major goal is to organize crafting ideas for viewers. I hope people will email
me ideas of crafts to add to my site. My personal pages will also be crafting-themed.
I anticipate that I will need the following structural elements:
- An overall main page with a
table containing links for “Family and Friends,” “crafters,” “employers,”
and “courses.”
- The main page of the crafting
section will contain a table with links to the following four sections: “crafts
as gifts,” “crafts as community service,” “crafts for home use,” and “crafts
just because.”
- Links to various outside
crafting websites
- “How to” pages on crafting
Required Elements:
My site will include the following elements:
- Tables on the main pages to
help with navigation of the site
- Graphics such as photos in
the family/friends section and digital photos on how to make certain
crafts
- About 20 pages, 4 main pages
for the four sections, plus sub-pages within those and pages for different
crafting projects
- A cascading styles sheet for
a toolbar on the side of my site that will appear on all pages, plus links
to external crafting sites and stores
Challenge Elements:
I’d like to build a cascading styles sheet to provide a
toolbar for easy navigation. Plus I want to organize graphics in an
easy-to-understand yet visually appealing way. The website should look cute but
professional. I’d like to use videos where appropriate.
