FADE IN:
 
              INT. HOSPITAL HALLWAY - NIGHT
 
              BAM.
 
              The medical cart SLAMS the swinging doors open. It's guided
              by ADRIAN FULLER; blonde, pretty and trying to hide a
              knockout figure under a baggy uniform.
 
              Two heavily made-up nurses, MAUREEN DEITZ and BARBARA KENT,
              chat in the hall.
 
                                  MAUREEN
                        Count Dracula still at it?
 
                                  BARBARA
                        On his third case. They didn't even
                        pee.
 
                                  MAUREEN
                        Maybe he gave his staff a "by-piss."
 
              Babara taps Maureen's shoulder.
 
                                  BARBARA
                        You're terrible.
 
              Adrian passes the two GIGGLING nurses. They acknowledge her
              with insincere smiles. She smiles back.
 
              As Adrian rounds the corner, the swinging doors to "Count
              Dracula's" operating room FLY OPEN. The darkly beautiful
              NURSE NATALIE SLAIN rushes past Adrian.
 
                                  NATALIE
                        Don't stand there.
 
              INT. VALIOS' OPERATING ROOM (THROUGH THE DOORS)
 
              Nurses ALEXANDRIA and IRENA KUDOFF, beautiful, raven- haired
              sisters, help DR. CONSTANTIN VALIOS; "Count Dracula." The
              "Count" has "Euro-Trash" good looks.
 
              They all wear surgical gowns and masks and bend over the
              blood-splattered patient at an odd angle.
 
              HOSPITAL HALLWAY
 
              Adrian leaves the cart to take a closer look. Just then
              Natalie rushes past her with bags of blood.
 
                                  NATALIE
                        Move!
 
              Natalie backs through the OR doors and disappears.

              VALIOS' OPERATING ROOM (THROUGH THE DOORS)
 
              As the doors swing, Dr. Valios raises his head and looks at
              Adrian.
 
              He's holding one of the patient's arteries in his hand and
              DRINKS BLOOD FROM IT LIKE A STRAW!
 
              The blood DRIPS from his chin onto the table.
 
              He looks at Adrian and HISSES like a cornered cat.
 
              HOSPITAL HALLWAY
 
              Adrian catches her breath and steps back against the wall.
              She clutches the wall with one hand and her chest with the
              other.
 
              All seems normal. The two nurses chat. It's like a nightmare.
 
              Adrian closes her eyes and takes a few deep breaths.
 
              Calm down.
 
              She gathers her courage and walks toward Dracula's OR.
 
              She takes a breath and goes through the doors.
 
              INT. VALIOS' OR
 
              A normal by-pass operation. Dr. Valios chats with his nurses.
              He looks up as Adrian enters. Their masks are on.
 
                                  VALIOS
                        What is it, Nurse?
 
              Adrian is flustered.
 
                                  ADRIAN
                        Uh. Sorry. Wrong room.
 
              She turns and leaves. As the doors swing shut behind her,
              BLOOD OOZES through Valios' surgical mask.
 
              HOSPITAL HALLWAY
 
              Adrian stands outside the OR, confused.
 
              The two chatting nurses watch her, soaking it all in for
              future gossip. Adrian smiles nervously. They smile back.
 
              Adrian pushes her cart back the way she came, then remembers
              the purpose of her trip.
 
              She turns the cart around and walks past Valios' OR again.

              She can't help but stop and look through the crack between
              the doors.
 
              INT. VALIOS' OR
 
              Again, the surgical team is huddled around the patient.
              Alexandria has her back to the door, blocking Adrian's view.
              She moves.
 
              Valios holds the patient's artery between his fingers. He
              watches the blood squirt. Then he flips the end of the artery
              into his mouth and sucks, closing his eyes.
