Sayreville High School Student Teaching
Algebra I
I was also able to teach a variety of lessons in the one
section of Algebra I that I taught while
student teaching in Sayreville War Memorial High School. I tried
differentiating instruction, by giving the students
different ways of learning concepts. For example, I used a number line on
the floor with open and closed circles
to demonstrate graphing inequalities. I also created a lesson to introduce
the students to the use of
graphing calculators, seen below. Also posted below is a project that I
gave the students involving writing equations
of lines and graphing. The students were given the project packet with
twenty different pieces of information (a slope and a
point, or two points etc), that they could then use to get twenty different
equations of lines. The answer key gives the
different pieces of information that the students may have had.
