Current News from the Biology Department

May 3, 2010:

The Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society recently received the TCNJ Division of Student Affairs 2010 Student Leadership Award for the Outstanding Service Project for its annual participation in "Hands-On Science Night" at Antheil Elementary School in Ewing.

One night each year, members of Tri-Beta assist the classroom teachers in presenting programs in all classrooms in which school children and their parents learn about critical thinking exercises in math and science.  Almost a thousand children and parents participate each year.  The director of the program has credited the TCNJ students with being single-handedly responsible for the continued success of Hands-On Science Night.  Participation in this program exemplifies the Tri-Beta goal to encourage interest in the sciences among others.

We congratulate the members of Tri Beta, and the group's adviser, Dr. Don Lovett.
