Mercer County Mosquito Control is looking to fill seasonal positions for the upcoming 2013 mosquito season (May-Sept). Successful applicants should be familiar with basic biological concepts and an understanding of good laboratory and field practices. Work is to suppress the Asian Tiger Mosquito in urban areas of Mercer County. Positions are 40 hrs/week, starting at $10/hr. Applicants must be a Mercer County resident. The NJ DEP Division of Land Use is looking to fill two hourly positions for work related to the fulfillment of an EPA Wetlands Mitigation Grant. The job is part time with 900 hours each year which is approximately 16 hours per week.

The task involves helping the Department of Environmental Protection with the development of a GIS data layer of the location and extent of all wetland mitigation sites, banks and bank service areas permitted under the State's Freshwater Wetlands Protection programs. The finished product will provide a visual and manageable tool to supplement evaluation and tracking of mitigation efforts throughout New Jersey.

The candidate must have a minimum of 60 college credits, or a BS degree with a strong concentration in environmental sciences. Applicant must also have working knowledge of GIS and the creation and storage of site information in GIS format.

New Jersey Community Water Watch, a project of AmeriCorps and New Jersey Public Interest Research Group (NJPIRG) is looking for graduating seniors to work as Water Watch Organizers for the 2008-2009 school year on college campuses throughout the state. Organizers work at one of ten sites in the state, tackling local water quality issues, learning of environmental issues, and how your efforts can have an impact.
