The summer internships provide excellent opportunities to experience and observe the budget process and policymaking at the federal level. Interns contribute to the sponsor’s work in program areas such as budget and tax policy, health care, national defense, the environment, education, retirement and other income assistance, regulation, and public investment. CBO interns may also participate in seminars offered by other Congressional support agencies and in the Congressional Summer Intern Lecture Series, which has featured speakers such as former Secretary of State Colin Powell, journalist Cokie Roberts, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and Ralph Nader.

Title: SURF 2007 (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship) for Programs in Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech
SYNOPSIS:
The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) and International Research Experience (IREP) Programs at the Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta, Georgia, run from May 30 to July 25, 2007, and are jointly sponsored by the National Science Foundation under the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program, and Georgia Tech.
SURF 2007 is an 8-week research experience program open to undergraduates in any science or engineering discipline at U.S. universities, for hands-on participation in materials research with projects focusing on "Structure-Property Correlation across Micro-to-Nano Length Scales." Students will work one-to-one under the mentorship of faculty in various engineering disciplines at Georgia Tech. Each student will receive a $3,800 stipend and a $1,562 housing allowance for the eight-week term.
