Student Accomplishments
RESEARCH
One of the most significant undergraduate experiences for many of our biology majors is their participation in an independent research project or internship with a faculty member in the Biology Department, or with research scientists at other institutions. Many students have presented the results of their research at state, regional, and national scientific conferences, and each year some students are co-authors on published abstracts or peer-reviewed papers. By the end of their undergraduate experience, many students have become colleagues of the faculty members, illustrating not only the level of work that students are able to achieve, but also illustrating the close relationships that students are able to develop with their faculty mentors.
