Concerned About Yourself?

Concerned About Yourself?

Concerned about your own eating habits? You can take the Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26) at the website for the River Centre Clinic. There you will find information about the EAT-26 and a link to take the test for yourself.

If you are at all concerned about your own eating habits, it might be helpful to talk to a counselor. A counselor can provide objective feedback about your situation and can offer you advice, counseling, and provide you with other resources. Don't think that your problem is too small, it's not that bad, or that you don't really need any counseling. You don't have to make any committment, just make a phone call or an appointment to talk to someone about it. You can visit TCNJ's Psychological Counseling Services webpage or call 771 - 2247 to get more information. For other counseling and resources for treatment of eating disorders, click here.

If you are not quite ready to speak with a counselor, there are some things that you can do to try to help yourself. You might want to go here to check out that section of this website.

There are many books that have been written by those who have suffered from an eating disorder. These books provide a look into the mind of someone suffering and how they were able to break free. These books can be quite helpful to realize that you are not alone in your feelings and can even give you insight and motivation to help yourself. There are also books that are written for the purpose of self-help and recovery and books for family and friends of sufferers. For a list of some books, as well as web links, click here.
